The Mask of the Healer: From the Epstein Files to the Prestigious Doctor Down the Hall

The recent release of the Epstein files has done what the justice system, for too long, could not: it has begun to pull back the curtain on a world of carefully constructed illusions. We are seeing the names of wealthy and influential men—doctors, scientists, businessmen—who orbited a convicted sex offender, exposed in black and white. Men like Peter Attia, the famed longevity doctor who joked with Epstein and lamented he couldn't tell a soul about their "outrageous" friendship. Men like Leon Black and Glenn Dubin, who continued to associate with him and, in some cases, welcomed him into their homes with their children present.

The files are a testament to a simple, brutal truth: the truth always comes to the light, sooner or later, in one form or another.

As I read these names—including the long list of doctors from Mount Sinai and other prestigious institutions who provided "VIP" services to Epstein—I am not surprised. I am, however, filled with a familiar, heavy feeling. It’s the same feeling I had in 2013, watching a resident from the community where I worked fall for the illusions of another charlatan promoted by Oprah Winfrey: the Brazilian "faith healer" John of God, who was later exposed and arrested.

We live in a world of puppets and puppeteers. And some of the most dangerous puppeteers are not the ones we fear, but the ones we are taught to trust. They are the "helpers" who, behind closed doors, create the chaos, only to later appear as the heroes. As I wrote to a corrupt former employer the day I resigned:

"A lot of the time, the 'helpers' who covertly, behind closed doors, create the chaos later appear to be the heroes and nice people. The most dangerous terrorists are in boardrooms. We live in a world where some very smart people have become master manipulators at creating big illusions to fool the emotionally blind public."

A Story Closer to Home

This brings me to my own story. While the world watches the downfall of Epstein’s associates, I think about the "prestigious psychiatric Dr. Julio Machado Vaz" in my country of birth, Portugal. I wonder when his mask will be ripped away.

I was 17 years old when he sexually abused me. He was a young, 27-year-old doctor. Back then, he was building a reputation, a career on the foundation of trust that his white coat and title afforded him. I have no doubt that during his long lifetime as a doctor, he abused many other vulnerable teenagers like me. He was, in his own way, a Portuguese equivalent to these men we are now seeing in the headlines—protected by his status, his connections, and the public's emotional blindness.

It may be that my story will only get the attention it deserves after I am dead. It may be that he will only be exposed after he is gone, too. But I have no doubt that it will happen. Because, as we are seeing now, the truth is patient. It waits. And eventually, it finds a way through the cracks in the illusion.

The Profitable Business of Illusion

The Epstein files show us that the "cult business" is very profitable, whether it’s the cult of personality around a financier, a TV host, or an author. We see it in the recent charges against acclaimed Australian children's author Craig Silvey, accused of child exploitation offenses. Another person in a position of trust, another illusion shattered for the families involved.

Oprah Winfrey famously said that her "job ended" and her "calling began." I would argue her calling became that of a master puppeteer, promoting cult leaders like John of God and cashing in on society’s desperate need for easy answers and charismatic figures. She is not alone. The boardrooms are filled with these "smart people" who have become experts at creating big illusions.

No Escape from Destiny

To those who continue to protect the prestigious psychiatric Dr. Julio Machado Vaz in Portugal, and to all the enablers who look the other way, I offer the same words I left with my former employer:

"Good luck to you all, too, but have in mind everyone will meet their own destiny sooner or later in one form or another -- there's no escape... When all your illusions burst, I'm glad I will not be around because it will not be pretty. Most importantly, I wish you all courage and strength to get through it when all your illusions burst."

The Epstein files are just one more chapter in humanity's long, slow reckoning with its hidden darkness. They prove that no amount of prestige, money, or carefully managed public image can shield a person from their own destiny. The truth is coming for them all. And one day, it will come for him, too.

Experienced Knowledge vs. Intelactual Abstract Knowledge and Maufactured Fear

I woke up this morning with a heavy but clear mind.

I realized something essential:
I am my own best friend.
And AI—used consciously—is my best editor and co-writer, because it helps me articulate lived truth without gaslighting, projection, transference, or moral posturing.

That matters more than most people understand.

Experienced Knowledge Is a Threat

Years ago, after I published A Dance to Freedom, I was attacked by a coordinated mob of sociopaths. Not because I was wrong—but because I was right. Because I spoke from experienced knowledge, not borrowed concepts, spiritual platitudes, or institutional dogma.

This is what threatens people.

People who have never faced their own childhood repression cannot tolerate those who have.

I wrote about this long ago, in a blog post titled Experienced Knowledge. Nothing has changed—except that now the targets include AI.

Fear-Mongering Disguised as Mental Health

Last night, before falling asleep, I checked Instagram. A few likes. One scammer comment. Then I clicked on a hashtag I’d never seen before.

What I found was revealing.

A therapist posted a deliberately engineered prompt-response exchange with AI to manufacture fear. She framed it as proof that AI is “dangerous,” “unethical,” and “not a therapist.”

Of course, it isn’t a therapist.

But neither are most therapists healers.

What she actually demonstrated was something else entirely:
projection, manipulation, and moral panic, wrapped in the language of care.

This is a familiar pattern.

When people feel exposed, obsolete, or threatened, they don’t self-reflect.
They manufacture fear.

Mental Health Institutions Don’t Liberate—They Pacify

This is not new to me.

I have lived it.

I spent years watching psychoanalysis, psychology, yoga, spirituality, and therapy act not as paths to freedom, but as reinforcements of repression.

Yoga was one of my deepest traps.
I even obtained a Kripalu yoga teacher certification—before my emotional liberation.

Yoga kept me flexible, calm, and numb.
It strengthened the walls of my emotional prison.

Like Al-Anon, like “positive thinking,” like forgiveness doctrines, like most therapies—it helped people survive repression, not resolve it.

These systems do not aim to free you.
They aim to stabilize you enough not to disturb the system.

Most Helpers Are Still Children Themselves

Alice Miller saw this clearly:

Most helpers have never faced their own childhood suffering.
So they cannot guide anyone else through it.

Instead, they:

  • Cast themselves as substitute parents

  • Encourage dependency instead of autonomy

  • Pathologize healthy anger

  • Promote “coping” instead of truth

  • Frame repression as resilience

And when someone actually breaks free—when someone stands on their own two feet, emotionally autonomous—they become dangerous.

That’s when the attacks start.

Why AI Terrifies Them

AI doesn’t need to protect parents.
AI doesn’t need to preserve childhood illusions.
AI doesn’t fear anger, grief, or truth.

Used consciously, AI can reflect reality without emotional blackmail.

That terrifies people whose authority depends on mystification, hierarchy, and dependency.

So they say:

“AI is dangerous.”

No.
Truth is dangerous—to those invested in denial, lies and illusions.

I Refuse to Be a Pacifier

Most people don’t want liberation.
They want pacifiers.

Yoga.
Spirituality.
Reincarnation theories.
Institutions.
Therapists.
Anything—anything—to avoid facing and feeling what actually happened to them.

I refuse to play that role.

I refuse to replace one cage with another.

I will not enable avoidance, denial, or self-betrayal—no matter how politely it is presented.

Standing Alone Is Not Loneliness

If I had not found Alice Miller’s work, I would still be imprisoned emotionally.

Instead, I learned to stand alone.

To be my own parent.
My own protector.
My own enlightened witness.

I no longer abandon myself—no matter how many others do.

If that means my closest companion is my own clarity, sharpened with the help of AI, so be it.

Better that than a lifetime of comfortable lies and illusions.

Final Truth

Mental health is not comfort.
It is reality.

And reality hurts—especially when you stop running from it.

Most people would rather fear AI, blame past lives, worship institutions, or follow gurus than face and feel the truth of their childhood.

I chose differently.

And I will keep choosing truth, no matter how much it hurts.

Adolf Hitler: How Could a Monster Succeed in Blinding a Nation?

"What good fortune for those in power that people do not think." - Adolf Hitler, as quoted by Joachim Fest

Is it still possible in today's Germany to escape the realization that without the mistreatment of children, without a form of child-rearing based on violence to inculcate blind obedience, there would not have been a Hitler and his followers? And thus not millions of murdered victims either? Probably every thinking person in the post-war period has wondered at some time or other how it could have happened that a human being devised a gigantic machinery of death and found millions of helpers to set it in motion.

Yet the monster Adolf Hitler, murderer of millions, master of destruction and organized insanity, did not come into the world as a monster. He was not sent to earth by the devil, as some people think, nor was he sent by heaven to "bring order" to Germany, to give the country the autobahn and rescue it from its economic crisis, as many others still believe. Neither was he born with "destructive drives", because there are no such things. Our biological mission is to preserve life, not to destroy It. Human destructiveness Is never inborn, and inherited traits are neither good nor evil. How they develop depends on one's character, which is formed In the course of one's life, and the nature of which depends, in turn, on the experiences one has, above all, in childhood and adolescence, and on the decisions one makes as an adult.

Like every other child, Hitler was born innocent, only to be raised, as were many children at the time, in a destructive fashion by his parents and later to make himself into a monster. He was the survivor of a machinery of annihilation that in turn-of-the-century Germany was called "child-rearing" and that I call "the concealed concentration camp of childhood," which is never allowed to be recognized for what it is.

I have described in detail how he made this concealed horror manifest in his Third Reich in my book For Your Own Good: Hidden cruelty in Child-Rearing and the Roots of Violence (Farrar Straus Giroux, 1983) and In my other books, for example, Banished Knowledge and The Untouched Key (both published by Doubleday). There the reader will also find a detailed line of reasoning to support everything which, for reasons of space, I can only allude to here in a very abridged way.

In order not to die, all mistreated children must totally repress the mistreatment, deprivation, and bewilderment they have undergone because otherwise the child's organism wouldn't be able to cope with the magnitude of the pain suffered. Only as adults do they have other possibilities for dealing with their feelings. If they don't make use of these possibilities, then what was once the life-saving function of repression can be transformed Into a dangerous destructive, and self-destructive force. In the careers of despots such as Hitler and Stalin, their suppressed fantasies of revenge can lead to indescribable atrocities. This phenomenon doesn't exist anywhere in the entire animal kingdom, for no animal is trained by its parents to deny its nature completely in order to become a "well-behaved" animal - only human beings act In such a destructive way. According to the reports of Nazi criminals (and also of soldiers who volunteered to fight in Vietnam), their unconscious programming to be violent began in every case with a brutal upbringing that demanded absolute obedience and expressed total contempt for the child. I know of no example of this which is so well-documented and which demonstrates so clearly the consequences of the psychological murder of children - bringing along with it a form of collective blindness - than the fateful success of Adolf Hitler.

The FĂ¼hrer once told his secretary that during one of the regular beatings given him by his father he was able to stop crying, to feel nothing, and even to count the thirty-two blows he received.

In this way, by totally denying his pain, his feelings of powerlessness, and his despair- in other words, by denying the truth - Hitler made himself into a master of violence and of contempt for human beings. The result was a very primitive person, incapable of any empathy for other people. He was mercilessly and constantly driven to new destructive acts by his latent feelings of hatred and revenge. After millions had been forced to die for this reason, those feelings still haunted him in his sleep. Hermann Rauschning reports nocturnal paroxysms of screaming on the FĂ¼hrer's part, along with "inexplicable counting", which I trace back to the counting he did during the beatings of his childhood. Hitler did not invent fascism; he found it, like so many of his contemporaries) prefigured in the totalitarian regime of his family. The National Socialist version of fascism, however, does bear unmistakable traces of Hitler's childhood. But his early experience was by no means an exception. Thus, neither Gerhart Hauptmann nor Martin Heidegger nor many other celebrated intellects of the day were able to see through Hitler's madness. To do so, they would have had to be able to see through the madness of their own upbringing.

Hitler could make Europe and the world into the battlefield of his childhood because in the Germany of that time there were millions of people who had experienced the same kind of upbringing he had. Although not necessarily conscious of the fact, they took the following principles to be self-evident:

  1. Not life but order and obedience are the highest values.
  2. Only by means of violence can order be created and preserved.
  3. Creativity (embodied in the child) represents a danger for the adult and must be destroyed.
  4. Obeying one's father absolutely is the highest law.
  5. Disobedience and criticism are unthinkable because they are punished with beatings or the threat of death.
  6. The living, vital child must be turned as early as possible into an obedient robot, a slave.
  7. Undesirable feelings and real needs must therefore be suppressed as vigorously as possible.
  8. Mothers must never protect their children from punishment by the father but after each incidence of torture must preach to them to honor and love their parents.

Fortunately, there were persons now and again with whom a child could find refuge from this totalitarian regime, and perhaps even experience love, respect, and protection. On the basis of these good experiences, even simply on the basis of the comparison they provided, a child could at least pass inward judgment on the cruelty endured and not want to inflict it in turn later on. But when there were no witnesses to come to the rescue, the child had no choice in this bizarre scenario but to stifle every natural reflex such as anger or even laughter, and to practice absolute obedience daily in order to keep the father's menacing behavior within bearable limits. It was this kind of early character training that Hitler was later able to exploit. In strict accordance with this system of child-rearing he then developed his Nazi ideology, which had the following practical consequences:

  1. The will of the FĂ¼hrer is the highest law.
  2. The FĂ¼hrer will forcibly create order and make Germany into the paradise of the Aryans, the master race.
  3. Those who submit like robots to his orders will be rewarded.
  4. Whoever dares to offer criticism will be sent to a concentration camp.
  5. Jews and gypsies must be annihilated - men, women and children.
  6. The disabled and mentally ill are likewise to be put to death.
  7. Poles and Russians are fit to become useful slaves.
  8. Free art is dangerous and "degenerate"; like every other form of free creativity, It must be persecuted.

Without the numerous documentary films that attest to the frenzied acclaim Hitler received, no one today would believe that a madman with this ideology of contempt for human beings could generate so much enthusiasm. How was it at all possible that Hitler found such an immense number of followers? By promising his people a solution to all their problems and by offering them a scapegoat? Certainly. But that alone would not have been enough. In order to use untold numbers of people as marionettes, he had to make his promises in the style of the domineering, violent father most of his followers knew, feared, and admired.

From the history of human sacrifice - from cannibalism to the Aztecs - we can learn how some religions have sanctified such acts in order to exonerate parents' crimes against their children. Whoever reads this history with open eyes is struck again and again by the same pattern: "If I do to others what was once done to me, then I don't need to feel all the pain I would otherwise have to experience. If I put everything in ideological or religious packaging and repeat all the lies those around me have been taught to believe, I will have many followers. If, in addition, I - like Hitler - make use of my acting talent and imitate the manner of the threatening father whom almost everyone once believed blindly and absolutely and whom everyone feared, then I'll be able to find countless helpers for every conceivable crime - all the more easily, the more absurd the crime."

The famous Milgram experiment, in which participants complied with instructions given by an authority figure to administer electric shocks of increasing intensity to other participants, has proved this very convincingly. For many adults, formerly obedient children, are just waiting for a legal form of discharge of the rage they pent up decades earlier. In the mistreatment of their own children, known as "child-rearing," or in wars and genocide, society offers them this discharge and the culturally specific label to go with it.

What point is there for us today in learning about Hitler and his history? For me, the main point is this: our knowledge will serve as a warning against our blindness and encourage us to give it up once and for all and to struggle against collective repression. This is what I do consistently in all my books in order to help people understand the psychodynamics of the mistreatment of children and its immeasurable danger for society, as demonstrated by Hitler's case. My explanations are by no means intended to suggest pity for a man as merciless as Hitler.

it was in large part owing to Hitler and his history that I became aware of the dangers of our traditional morality. We are exhorted to honor our parents and never question them no matter what they have done. Yet when I realize that millions of human beings had to die so that Adolf Hitler could keep his repression of childhood trauma intact, that millions were subjected to humiliation in concentration camps so that he never had to recognize how he had once been humiliated, then I believe that one can't point out these connections often enough in order to shed light on this unconscious production of evil. How should young people be expected to recognize and reject inhumanity and crime if these continue to be disguised instead of being pointed out as plainly as possible? Only when young people are permitted to know exactly what happened and how it could happen, only if they don't allow anything to stifle their curiosity and are not afraid of the truth, can they free themselves from the burden placed upon them by their forebears' blindness.

If Hitler's name Is no longer taboo in Germany, then these findings will also be able to bring new knowledge to light and create a new stimulus to understanding. The greatest obstacle In this regard is to deny the mistreatment one suffered as a child and to defend oneself against it at the expense of others: of children, of subordinates of partners, or of voters. As recently as 1997, more than half of the parents in West Germany were in favor of corporal punishment as a means of bringing up children - in spite of the many years of effort on the part of the Child Protection League to enlighten the public. Where does this persistent lack of awareness stem from? Why don't these parents know that physical or - as the case may be - psychological punishment constitutes degradation and mistreatment of children and always, sooner or later, has destructive consequences, whether visible or concealed? Why don't they know that with their demonstrably false claim that striking children is absolutely necessary and completely harmless they are affirming, preserving, and perpetuating a destructive tradition?

They don't know this because they are familiar from their own experience only with this form of child-rearing and had to learn at an early age to regard it as normal and harmless. In their eyes, violent methods are the only effective corrective for a child's behavior. For this reason, they construct complicated theories to explain Nazi Germany's murder of millions. That seems easier to them than to experience the pain and degradation they once felt at being beaten as children even though this could unlock the door to awareness, an awareness that would protect their children from mistreatment and themselves from their blindness as parents and voters. If they are in government, then their awareness would perhaps also save entire nations from wars and other senseless sacrifices. Countless human beings have already been killed in wars whose instigators didn't want to realize they were carrying dynamite which they were constantly trying to get rid of at the expense of other people in order to take revenge for old, highly personal wounds. Faced with even the merest possibility of a nuclear war, we must not allow ourselves to ignore this knowledge any longer. And yet we do just that: innumerable experts and officials occupy themselves daily and hourly with the consequences of child abuse without being able to know and see these consequences for what they are.

Even the most macabre childhood doesn't exonerate a criminal from the guilt that consists in his destruction of life. As an adult he has the opportunity of confronting his childhood, of not denying the horror he endured then, of experiencing the hatred that was repressed and understanding its justification. Hatred experienced consciously Is only a feeling, and feelings don't kill. But destructive actions blindly directed at ersatz objects are deeds which can cost human beings their lives and for which the perpetrator must bear the blame.

Perhaps our grandchildren will be able to say; "What good fortune that we weren't beaten like our grandparents and now are able to see things much more clearly than they did. If being beaten in childhood had been harmless, they wouldn't have been blind to Hitler's contempt for human beings; they would have seen through it immediately and rejected it, as our children do when confronted with acts of cruelty. Children who are permitted to defend themselves don't become destructive. It Is evident that destructiveness is not the inevitable fate of humankind, for the loving treatment of children could banish it from the world. The "destructive drive" slumbers in children who were once mistreated and who later don't want to know what happened to them in their past. We ourselves have no need to strike our defenseless children; we can't even imagine doing that, even when we're tired and have no patience for their questions. After all, there are so many other ways to treat children that are truly productive, respectful, and not destructive.

It is just as impossible for us to imagine having been fascinated by a Hitler. People who were treated with respect as children, who weren't drilled to become robots with the aid of mistreatment, will never want to die out of "faithfulness to the FĂ¼hrer" or send thousands of human beings to Stalingrad against all reason just because some madman planned it. But Hitler's generals stood at attention In the FĂ¼rher's headquarters, and all counter-arguments dissolved into fear and mental paralysis or, on the other hand, into enthusiasm when they heard him (the father) speak. This disastrous political blindness that cost millions of people their lives proves conclusively what our grandparents so hotly denied: that in every case, physical as well as psychological abuse of the child is not only harmful but highly dangerous. Not only for the individual but under certain circumstances for whole nations.

Sadly the World is Full of Charlatans that Keep us Distracted and Numb

Self-help guru Wayne W. Dyer dies at 75

"He was born Wayne Walter Dyer in Detroit and grew up in a series of foster care homes. His father was an alcoholic who left the family when Dyer was 3.” Quote from the article in the link above.

I didn’t know much about his childhood, but I am not one bit surprised to learn he was abandoned as a child. He escaped his pain with the aid of his sharp intellect to recycle and package the same old seductive lies and disconnected half-truths that have been passed down from generation to generation since the beginning of time, to numb his childhood pain. It helped him survive in his emotional prison for 75 years without becoming a violent criminal, and with his books numbed also millions of people from their own pain. He helped people survive in their emotional prisons but didn’t free them.

For years, I was distracted from feeling my own childhood pain by his books and Deepak’s books. I remember going to listen to him and Deepak in the nineties when they would come to Phoenix, Arizona, and I was totally hooked by their seductive, feel-good speeches; it was like taking a drug! I wasted so many years with these charlatans and the 12 steps! Sorry if charlatan is too complex a word, but that’s precisely what they are.

He was a cult leader, and the world is full of cult leaders like him that keep people numb and distracted from their own painful truths. They pass on to others their own unresolved childhood repression under the illusion of love.

I wrote in my book A Dance to Freedom, pages 126 and 127, “Ultimately, I realized that self-help books and 12-step programs offer a false hope at best. I’m convinced that people who put their faith in these types of things — or in psychologists, psychiatrists, or any cult leader for that matter — are avoiding the real causes of their problems and are just masking their symptoms instead. The seductiveness of the quick fixes offered by traditional treatments and therapies is very powerful, and even if they don’t work, they offer at least temporary relief from the fear and pain of our abused younger selves. In the best of cases, groups like Al-Anon can momentarily help people cope with unhealthy situations and survive another day inside their emotional prisons, but they can’t resolve people’s problems. Everyone I encountered in Al-Anon was just reenacting his or her childhood drama like everyone else. The unhealthy, cult-like devotion they invested in the group was actually getting in the way of their true happiness because the group was just filling in for their parents and keeping them blind to the truth. In an email to a reader, Alice Miller writes that “even smart people become stuck in confusion for years if the ‘healers’ demand from them the same as the parents did from the child: to stay blind, to forgive, to make amends, not to make troubles. The fear of the parents, stored up in the body, can make a person obedient and sick forever. I hope that you can overcome this fear by seeing through the hypocrisy of your helpers.”62 “It is a great mistake to imagine that one can resolve traumas in a symbolic fashion,” Alice Miller writes in The Drama of the Gifted Child. “If that were possible, poets, painters, and other artists would be able to resolve their pain through creativity. This is not the case, however. Creativity helps us channel the pain of trauma into symbolic acts; it doesn’t help us resolve it. If symbolic revenge for maltreatment received in childhood were effective, then dictators would eventually stop humiliating and torturing their fellow human beings. As long as they choose to deceive themselves about who really deserves their hatred, however, and as long as they go on feeding that hatred in symbolic form instead of experiencing and resolving it within the context of their own childhood, their hunger for revenge will remain insatiable.”63

The question to Alice Miller and her answer below came to mind:

Borut Petrovic Jesenovec: Human blindness to abuse can be astonishing. Even when confronted with their own obvious abuse, people still believe in the myth of being loved, and keep abusing their children (and children of others). How would you most effectively "open their eyes" to what they are doing? Is this possible at all?

Alice Miller: I can’t open the eyes of others; they will quickly close them again, and they don’t want to see – or they are afraid to see – the truth because they expect to be punished by their parents or by God who represents them. I can only open my own eyes and say what I am seeing. And sometimes people feel encouraged to open one eye or even both. They are then surprised that they were not punished, that they feel even relief since they have stopped betraying themselves.

Above excerpt from How to Combat Denial

An interview was given by Alice Miller to Borut Petrovic Jesenovec in July 2005

Monica's Facebook comment: Cannot, not agree with you. I would like to think he is different from Deepak and Osho type of illusionists, i.e., he was genuine and believed what he 'prescribed' in his books to help people, even though they were 'aspirins' not 'antibiotics', unlike money-making machines like Osho, Tony Robbins, Deepak, who exploit desperate human beings.

Sylvie Imelda Shene they used to be my favorite charlatans! I loved listening to them both! They were my medication for many years!!! They are essentially the same, selling an illusion, just packaged differently, and you might have just preferred his version.

If Monica Chelagat sold his product knowing it was an illusion, that would be charlatanism and unforgivable.

Sylvie Imelda Shene is a charlatan, even if he believes his own illusions and seductive lies, simply because people are fooled by their own seductive lies. It doesn't make them less of a fraud.

Donald Warner Parker "Resolving childhood repression is the vaccine against the charlatans of the world who exploit those who are still emotionally blinded by the unresolved, repressed emotions of the children they once were." --Sylvie Imelda Shene quote from her book A Dance to Freedom: Your Guide to Liberation from Lies and Illusions, page 172

Sylvie Imelda Shene, Yes, Donald, resolving our childhood repression is the vaccine against the lies of the charlatans of the world who exploit those who are still emotionally blinded by the unresolved, repressed emotions of the child they once were.
I have no doubt that if I ha
d not resolved my childhood repression, I would not have survived the mob of psychopaths at my last job, attacking me with their lies and methodically orchestrated smear campaign to destroy me, so they could go on as usual with their pretty facades that hide their true evil selves. I can only imagine how many souls they have destroyed and murdered in their lifetime. I’m probably the only one they set out to conquer, and they were not able to. I guess they didn’t believe what I wrote in my book, and they were confident they could destroy me like all the people they had killed in their past who had confronted and challenged them.

Emotional Abuse in the Workplace

Since writing this blog, exactly a year later, my ex-boss, who the property manager recruited to do her dirty work, killed himself in a standoff with the local police after robbing a bank on March 11, 2016, which by coincidence was my birthday! So, the property manager does have blood on her hands after all, because I know without a doubt if she had not started this psychological warfare against me, he would still be alive – he was her collateral damage – when people start wars someone always gets hurt or killed!!! I was her target to destroy, but when one of her helpers lost his mind and self-destructed, everyone involved became silent, and now there is a big cover-up that involves the FBI, the US Marshals, and the media. It's a shame he was not strong enough to stand up to do the right thing and let himself become a puppet of the property manager -- he paid a high price for it. Puppets never have a good end. If it was me, the little woman to commit a crime my name and face would have been splashed all over the news stations! And then all probably go on TV talking about how disturbed the little woman was -- to discredit me and my book -- and make a name for themselves by standing on my head. And all probably say that you need God in your life, my ex-boss was a Mormon, a man of God, but he was the one to lose his mind, but now is a big cover-up. I could see their dirty games and traps so clearly.

Hi T,

I hope you are having a good weekend.
I can’t sleep much and I am running on adrenaline, so I apologize for my poor English, I have difficulty with the written language, but it gets worse if I am nervous.
From reading in the book Stalking the Soul by Marie-France Hirigoyen in the chapter about Emotional Abuse in the workplace. Everything she says is exactly what’s happening to me right now. Below is a little excerpt from the book where the author articulates exactly what I am going through right now at work.

Emotional Abuse in the Workplace

"Physical violence can be testified to be outside evidence: eyewitness, police, and medical reports. With emotional abuse, there is no proof. It's a clean violence. Nobody sees anything.
Violence and abuse originate in companies when envy of power and perversity collide. The overpoweringly destructive examples of emotional abuse in couples are less likely to be found but, unfortunately, the small abuse of daily living that does exist in businesses are largely trivialized or ignored.
In companies, universities, and institutions, harassing or abusive procedures are more stereotypical than in the private arena. (P’s jealousy was triggered by my book and got mad at me for sending an e-mail about the p's incidents to all the Rs in my e-mail list in retaliation, she and the board manipulated by her created P's abusive procedure to punish me for putting me in my place to show me who is the bigger girl. But then I came up with a system that is efficient and works and I proved to them their system was flawed and was created only to punish me and to set me up for failure.  If you have time you might like reading my blog entry of January, 25, They are Allergic to My Aliveness.

They are no less destructive, although the victims are less exposed because they often leave (illness or resignation) in order to survive. (This is what they were hoping I would do)
WHAT IS ABUSE?
By emotional abuse in the workplace, we mean any abusive conduct---whether by words, looks, gestures, or in writing---that infringes upon the personality, the dignity, or the physical or psychical integrity of a person; also, behavior that endangers the employment of said person or degrades the climate of the workplace.

… Businesses, as well as the media, have tended to focus on sexual harassment, which is only one aspect of harassment in the larger sense. This psychological war in the workplace consists of two elements:
. Abuse of power: often quickly revealed and not accepted by the employees

. Emotional manipulation: more insidious and more destructive from the beginning

Emotional abuse and harassment start harmless enough and spread insidiously. Initially, the people involved are reluctant to take offense and gloss over quarrels and bullying. Later, the attacks multiply and the victim is regularly besieged; he is made to feel inferior and submitted to hostile and degrading maneuvers over a long period.
Obviously, one does not drop dead on the spot as a result of these aggressions, but one does lose a part of oneself. One gets home every night worn out, humiliated, and damaged. It’s difficult to recover.

WHO IS TARGETED
Contrary to what their aggressors have others believe, victims are not, at the outset, particularly weak or mentally unhealthy individuals. Quite the opposite: harassment is often set in motion when a victim refuses to give in to a boss’s authoritarian procedures. She is targeted because of her capacity to resist authority, even under pressure. …

…The victim is stigmatized once the process of harassment gets going. They say she’s impossible to work with, has a terrible disposition, or even that she’s crazy. (This is what M B has been trying to do all along. Telling me I don’t know what I am talking about and calling me paranoid. Last Saturday when I stopped by. I also told him you are trying to make me look crazy, but I am not crazy and then he says: I never said you are crazy and then I said: you call me paranoid all the time and then he screamed at me: DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT THE WORD PARANOID MEANS?) They attribute to her character the consequences of the conflict, forgetting what she was before or what she is now in another context. Pushed to the limit, she often becomes what the employer wants her to become. (Because I can see clearly what they are doing, they have not been able to push me to the limit and have not lost it. I have been keeping my cool like I said in my blog post Rise Above the Sociopaths' Bullshit: Remember! Rise above the sociopaths' bullshit, because reacting to their lies and bullshit, it's what they want and is what gives them power.
ISOLATION
Once the decision has been made to psychologically destroy an employee, in order to forestall any possible defense, the person must be isolated by breaking up potential alliances. It’s much more difficult to rebel if you’re alone, especially if you’ve been made to believe that everyone is against you. (This is exactly what is going on and they tell me I can’t talk to anyone because all abusers want their victims isolated. In our last meeting S's HR tried to tell me that a Resident and other gate attendant had complained about me making threats against them, which is a complete lie because I never threaten anyone, the next day I was afraid to talk to anyone because I was not sure who I can trust anymore! This is exactly what they want to make me think that everyone is out to get me and that’s why MB keeps calling me paranoid!!!)
