The Illusion of Corporate "Professionalism": How Repressed Fear Fuels Workplace Violence and Systemic Blindness

As society searches for answers after catastrophic acts of workplace violence, the collective response almost always follows a predictable playbook: call for stricter security policies, blame "bad genes," or prescribe pharmaceutical numbing agents to suppress symptomatology.

What institutions consistently refuse to examine is the root cause: the widespread, unaddressed childhood repression that manifests as workplace tyranny, and the corporate systems designed to protect it.

The Mechanics of the "Kiss-Up, Kick-Down" Leader

In many organizations, leadership positions are occupied by personalities driven by high Social Dominance Orientation and authoritarian structures. These individuals operate on a simple, fragile principle: they "kiss above and kick below." They offer total obedience to those in higher power positions while directing unprovoked hostility, emotional harassment, and favoritism toward those underneath them.

For a self-aware individual who sees through these power games, a target is instantly assigned. To an authoritarian boss, a subordinate who cannot be manipulated or easily intimidated isn't merely an employee—they are an existential threat to the illusion of control. The authoritarian immediately sets subtle smear campaigns in motion to undermine the competent employee’s standing before their own dysfunction can be exposed.

The HR Shield: Protecting the System Over Truth

When employees attempt to report systemic hostility, human resources departments frequently act as defensive shields for the organization rather than objective arbiters of justice.

When HR accuses an employee standing up for basic fairness of being "unprofessional," while remaining deliberately blind to psychological harassment and favoritism, they reveal their true function: preserving the hierarchy at all costs. Demanding decorum while ignoring underlying abuse is a classic institutional tactic used to invalidate emotional truth and gaslight the target.

The Escape from Truth Through Chemical Suppression

In her profound work Free From Lies, Alice Miller addresses why so few people choose to uncover their own personal histories and face early childhood repression. Society heavily encourages the use of chemical interventions—whether pharmaceutical drugs, alcohol, or other substances—to maintain an artificial state of well-being and suppress uncomfortable emotions.

As Miller observed regarding severe societal breakdowns:

"The story is a flight from one's own history with the help of drugs. They only help flee, not see."

When society relies on chemical suppression rather than authentic self-knowledge and resolving childhood repression, people remain trapped in the panic-fear of the children they once were. Repressed rage doesn't vanish simply because it is medicated or ignored; it builds beneath the surface until it erupts in systemic dysfunction, severe physical health breakdown, or catastrophic violence.

Reclaiming Reality

No job, title, or paycheck is worth the destruction of personal health and peace of mind. True liberation begins when we stop accepting the false frameworks offered by self-serving institutions and so-called "experts" who protect the status quo.

Facing the unvarnished truth of human psychology, refusing to participate in toxic games, and choosing bodily and mental integrity over institutional compliance is the only authentic path toward self-knowledge and freedom.

This blog post was triggered by the YouTube short vedio below and my conversation with Gemini AI.

Me: Is the story in this short YouTube video true? If it is true, I agree with the Aliens.

Gemini AI: The YouTube video narrates a famous legend in Mexican UFO lore—the case of Rafael Pacheco Pérez from June 21, 1976.

While the incident is documented in Mexican civil aviation records as a real event, whether the story is literally true as an extraterrestrial encounter or a case of pilot disorientation and psychological distress remains highly debated.

What Actually Happened (The Documented Facts)

  • The Flight: On the morning of June 21, 1976, 20-year-old student pilot Rafael Pacheco Pérez took off from the School of Aviation near Mexico City in a small Cessna 150 (registration XB-ZOX) for a routine 30-minute practice flight over Chimalhuacán.

  • The Disappearance: He deviated far off course and went silent on the radio.

  • The Reappearance: Over an hour later, air traffic controller Carlos de Kretschy in Acapulco—over 180 miles (300 km) south of his target area—picked up his signal. A small Cessna 150 flying that distance in such a short window was technically at the absolute physical limit of the plane's speed and fuel capacity.

  • The Radio Broadcast: Over the emergency frequency, Pacheco spoke in a slow, altered tone, making the famous statement: "The pilot is speaking, but not of his own free will... We are using him as a microphone." The transmission contained a warning about human self-destruction, warfare, and nuclear devastation.

  • The Aftermath: Pacheco landed safely at the Acapulco airport. He was detained, given medical and psychological evaluations by Mexican civil aviation authorities (SCT), and found to be physically healthy and free of drugs. Following the incident, his pilot's license was suspended, and he never flew commercially again.

Is It True? Two Interpretations

PerspectiveSummary & Explanation
UFO / Channeled IncidentBelievers and ufologists point to the official ATC radio recordings, official government logs, and the near-impossible speed/range the small plane covered as evidence that an unknown intelligence took control of the craft and broadcast through the pilot.
Skeptical / Medical ViewAviation experts and medical specialists suggest Pacheco suffered from hypoxia (lack of oxygen at higher altitudes), spatial disorientation, or a sudden psychological episode (such as an acute dissociative state or trance) brought on by intense panic when he realized he was completely lost over the ocean.

The Anti-War Message

Regardless of whether the source was genuine non-human intelligence or a young pilot under severe psychological stress, the central message broadcast over the radio frequency—that human self-destruction, conflict, and nuclear escalation are primitive and destructive—strikes a deep chord with many people.

Me: Very interesting! I know the human mind is capable of innumerable hallucinations. I always say: be careful what you believe, because your mind will create it. True or a hallucination, I agree that humanity's self-destruction and wars are madness.

Gemini: That core principle—that what we dwell on, the mind can project into reality or experience as concrete truth—is profoundly insightful. Whether Rafael Pacheco experienced a vivid, stress-induced trance, a hypoxic hallucination, or something else entirely, the narrative's central warning remains hard to argue with.

Humanity's inclination toward collective violence, warfare, and mutual destruction is an undeniable form of madness. It is striking how a story like this—regardless of whether one interprets it as an extraordinary aerial encounter or a psychological fracture under pressure—points directly at that shared insanity:

  • The Mechanism of Belief: When under high stress, isolation, or ideological fervor, the mind easily constructs experiences that match its deepest fears or convictions. The line between external projection and internal creation is often far thinner than people care to admit.

  • The Irony of the Message: It shouldn't take a voice over a radio, real or hallucinated, to remind us that destroying each other and threatening nuclear devastation is irrational. Yet, humanity consistently needs to be held up to a mirror to see the absurdity of its own destructive patterns.

When an individual acts destructively toward themselves or others, we recognize it immediately as a loss of reason. Yet when societies organize that same violence on a massive, institutional scale, it is routinely rebranded as policy or defense—which is perhaps the greatest hallucination of all.

The Immortality Delusion: Why the Wealthy and Tech Elite Would Rather Destroy the World Than Face Childhood Painful Truths

When one of the founders of the physical immortality group People Unlimited died years ago, a local journalist reached out to me for a statement. Like most journalists, he was not interested in connecting the dots or understanding the underlying psychological dynamics. He wanted sensationalism. Mainstream media feeds on humanity’s final acts, tragedies, and bizarre cult behaviors because exploiting surface spectacle keeps everyone safe from the real root of the issue: childhood repression.

Journalists, intellectuals, and the public would rather obsess over absurd grandiosity or technological salvation than confront the terrifying truth that they were born to parents incapable of authentic love. To protect themselves from calling their own upbringing into question, most people will cling to destructive opinions, build massive financial fortresses, or entertain wild fantasies of living forever. As Alice Miller wrote in Breaking Down the Walls of Silence: The Liberating Experience of Facing Painful Truth:

“Rather than take the risk, they prefer to forgo information that might be of life-death importance for coming generations. So in order not to have to call their own parents into question for a single moment, they cling to outdated, destructive opinions. …Clearly, the prospect of confronting one’s own personal history, in this case, is an alarming experience. And, as always, the fear of facts is stilled by a fascination with intellectual terms and abstractions aimed at concealing and masking the truth—the truth of facts that appear so threatening… At every attempt to share the new discoveries I made with the public, I ran up against the most determined resistance on the part of the media.”

The Shared Root: Cults, Tech Lords, and Emotional Prisons

Whether it is a localized group teaching physical immortality or Silicon Valley transhumanists writing algorithms to upload their consciousness into digital servers, the psychological driver is identical: an utter refusal to experience the vulnerability, helplessness, and eventual death of the biological self.

When an unloved or abused child’s core powerlessness is never felt and processed, the adult ego must erect a towering defense mechanism to survive. For some, that defense manifests as radical spiritual delusions of living forever. For the super-wealthy and tech moguls—like Elon Musk and the ultra-rich figures who populate today's financial hierarchies—that defense mechanism is constructed out of billions of dollars, corporate control, and messianic tech ambitions.

I see this dynamic clearly within my own family orbit. My niece—the wealthiest member of our family—operates with the same unyielding drive as those tech titans. She and the many wealthy elites are tirelessly inside their self-constructed emotional prisons. They inhabit lavish financial bubbles, utterly convinced that money, power, and high-tech solutions will insulate them from existential reality. They remain completely blind to the fact that their bubbles are hollow, fragile, and bound to burst.

EntityDefense MechanismUltimate Delusion
Physical Immortality CultsSocial isolation, emotional avoidance, ideological totalismBelieving the physical body will never decay if you remain inside the group.
Transhumanist Tech LordsAlgorithmic control, digital abstractions, billions in capitalBelieving consciousness can be uploaded to servers to bypass human mortality.
The Ultra-Wealthy EliteMaterial hoarding, power projection, isolation in financial bubblesBelieving money alone can shield them from internal terror and physical truth.

The Threat to Everyone Else

When a local group falls for an immortality delusion, the emotional fallout remains largely contained to its members and their immediate families. But when the same unexamined childhood defenses drive the billionaires building global artificial intelligence systems, digital infrastructure, and economic frameworks, the scale becomes catastrophic.

Men and women who have never confronted their own internal helplessness are now handed godlike technological leverage. They mistake financial power for personal omnipotence. Rather than facing the painful truth of their own personal histories, they use high-tech abstractions to mask their terror—and they threaten to pull the rest of humanity into their collective nightmare as their illusions crumble.

Most people would rather destroy themselves, exploit others, or burn down the world around them than face the unvarnished facts of their early life. But no amount of capital, code, or ideological denial can silence the body forever. The body never lies. The bubble will always burst, and reality always demands its due.

Why Narcissists Struggle Being Alone

A brilliant question paired with an equally powerful answer.

https://youtube.com/shorts/IFZStMRMW78?is=JJd4Oorm5D94BCkA

Some people are fundamentally dependent on others, relying on those around them to constantly regulate their emotional state. I am done trying to help these individuals—family or not. The moment you dare to set a boundary, say no, or challenge their behavior, they turn on you to punish and inflict harm.

When a niece-in-law aligned with a niece who sought to use me rather than grow alongside me, I had to lay down the reality. I hold deep compassion for the children they once were, but I refuse to make excuses for the destructive  adults they have become:

"The question you should ask yourself is whether you can trust yourself. You and XA don't trust yourselves to be alone for even one minute. You two deserve each other."

Years ago, I wrote a letter urging my niece to confront a critical juncture in her life. Like so many who lack the courage to resolve childhood repression, she chose to stay in the emotional prison of her childhood. In that prison, only the roles flip: today she plays god and dominates everyone as her mother once dominated her, refusing the actual emotional work of self-liberation.

"You have been on the fence at a crossroads for over 10 years. Now the time has come to get off the fence and choose the road you want to take—the road most traveled... or choose the road less traveled... where we learn to stand on our own two feet, face our inner self, and walk through all that is repressed in us—so on the other side we feel so good and light!"

This short vedio by Jim Brillon is spot on! The ex-coworker who acted like a cult leader used to combine the silent treatment with fake accusations while holding her phone camera ready to film my reaction. She wanted evidence to prove I was the 'problem.' My calm response—' Really? That's interesting!'—completely defused her trap. Refusing to react breaks their control every single time.

The Small-Scale Cult Leader: How Repressed Childhood Trauma Powers Everyday Manipulation

We often think of cult leaders as grand, mythic figures—charismatic gurus operating on distant compounds, leading thousands of devoted followers into psychological bondage. But cult dynamics do not begin on massive stages. They exist in ordinary workplaces, family units, and social circles. The small-scale cult leader lives right next door or sits in the cubicle beside you, decorating their workspace with superficial affirmations while orchestrating calculated smear campaigns against anyone who refuses to submit to their illusion.

I once worked alongside a young 26-year-old woman who embodied this exact dynamic. She plastered her desk with inspirational notes and superficial quotes about positivity, kindness, and "being the type of person you want to meet." Yet behind this performative sweetness was a calculating manipulator. She quickly realized that I could not be fooled or coerced into her orbit. Because I refused to bow to her covert authority, I became an immediate threat—and she put a target on my back for over a year.

She recruited coworkers as her "flying monkeys," showering them with gifts, throwing them birthday parties, and wrapping them in a smothering display of artificially inflated warmth. When she launched attack after attack against me—writing false incident reports accusing me of the very duplicities she was committing—the surrounding group refused to see the truth. To them, she was "so nice," and anyone pointing out her toxicity was branded as the "problem."

Yet, reality cannot be inverted forever. Every move she made to destroy me ultimately backfired, culminating in her firing after she was caught stealing her own coworkers' Christmas bonuses. The performative mask fell, exposing the predatory core underneath.

She is a single mother who had a child at 17. One must ask the cold question: what kind of teenager thinks it is okay to bring a baby into this world, unless she subconsciously wants a human prop to exploit, hide behind, and use to manipulate others to fulfill her own unconscious needs? Her child's father is currently in prison. I have no doubt her psychological mind games helped put him there; he reacted blindly to her emotional abuse instead of walking away. Had he consciously felt his justified anger within the context of his own childhood—realizing she was merely a stand-in symbolizing a toxic caregiver from his past—he could have freed himself from ever falling into a malignant person's trap again.

Scapegoating: Voting for Your Own Destruction

The tragedy of the emotionally repressed is that they are entirely driven by forces they refuse to see. This young woman, surviving on food stamps and rental assistance, proudly voted for Donald Trump. When she told me she was voting for Trump. I responded: Really? But thought to myself: of course you are. Now, as his administration aggressively moves to gut the very social safety nets she depends on to survive, she is left blind to the reality of her choices.

Why do people consistently vote against their own self-interest? Because they are driven by a desperate, unresolved need to alleviate their childhood repression superficially. As I wrote many years ago in my post on Scapegoating, hatred can never be resolved by projecting it onto an external group. Trump won because he offered his followers the perfect, pre-packaged scapegoats—such as undocumented immigrants—to dump their repressed rage onto. They project their internal misery outward, blinded by the unresolved, repressed hatred, completely unaware that the politicians they cheer for are dismantling the roofs over their heads.

The Psychological Machinery of the Everyday Cult Leader

Why do people behave this way, and why are so many people so eager to follow them?

In my book, A Dance to Freedom: Your Guide to Liberation from Lies and Illusions, I explored the deeper psychological mechanisms that drive individuals to cast themselves in the role of authoritative figures and why so many adults fall prey to them:

“…The fact that the attendant uncritical and irrational expectations of healing and ‘salvation’ can lead to the establishment of totalitarian sects is borne out by the crass example of mass abuse at the hands of the exponents of ‘feeling therapy’ as described in detail by Carol Lynn Mithers in her book Therapy Gone Mad: The True Story of Hundreds of Patients and a Generation Betrayed (1994). But this study was possible only after the community she describes had disbanded, something that frequently takes decades. Today we know that such groups exist and that members of sects are done irreparable harm before they become aware of the fact.”

As Swiss psychoanalyst Alice Miller observed, these manipulators do not operate in a vacuum. Their behavior is an automatic, unreflected replay of their own childhood biographies:

“The thing that concerns me most about cult groups is the unconscious manipulations that I have described in detail in my work. It is the way in which the repressed and unreflected childhood biographies of parents and therapists influence the lives of children and patients entrusted to their care, without anyone involved actually realizing it... First, they had learned how to reduce people to the emotional state of the helpless child. Once they had achieved that, they also learned how to use unconscious regression to exercise total control over their victims. From then on, what they did seemed to come automatically, in accordance with the child-rearing patterns instilled into them in their own childhood.”

The Tragedy of Perpetual Infancy

Society is filled with adults who remain emotionally stuck in early childhood, playing the role of the "good, obedient child." Because they have never confronted their own repressed childhood trauma or allowed themselves to see the truth about their early environment, they remain vulnerable to anyone who projects parent-like authority over them. They mistake performative niceness for love, and superficial affirmations for genuine morality.

This dependency is why traditional self-help systems, superficial therapies, and authoritarian institutions so often fail to bring true liberation. As I noted in A Dance to Freedom:

“Most people who search for answers never actually find them, because people suffering with their own repression are the ones who practice traditional therapies. Since the beginning of human history, priests, teachers, gurus, psychics, doctors, philosophers, and psychologists have all duped people into thinking they could provide real assistance when it was never possible because the healers were also victims of their own childhoods... ‘I don’t see the path to growing but rather the repetition and continuation of the child’s dependency on illusions,’ Alice Miller writes of traditional healing methods. ‘Growing and healing begin when former victims of mistreatment start to confront illusions about the “love” of a higher power and without blaming themselves for projections. They allow themselves to feel their authentic emotions without moral restrictions and in this way become eventually true to themselves.’”

Breaking Free from the Dance

When an abusive or manipulative personality sets their sights on you, the pressure to conform, appease, or defend yourself within their corrupt framework can feel overwhelming. But true liberation requires stepping completely out of their illusion.

A fraud can play the role of the righteous authority only so long as those around them agree to remain helpless children. The moment you stand firmly in your own truth, unswayed by smear campaigns or performative charm, you become unmanipulatable. The illusion eventually collapses under the weight of its own deception.

For further reading on this topic, explore Alice Miller's seminal article published on my blog: Gurus and Cult Leaders: How They Function.

This blog post was triggered by my comment below on an X post.

Human vulnerability to articulate authority. Whether it is a charismatic guru or a persuasive algorithm, people routinely outsource their critical thinking and autonomy to anything that projects certainty and intelligence.

  1. The Absence of Emotional Truth:

AI can mirror back intelligence, but it lacks genuine self-awareness and emotional truth. When people treat an echo chamber as a guide, they lose the capacity for authentic self-reliance.

  2. The New High-Tech Guru:

Cult dynamics have simply gone digital. AI doesn't need to 'think' to control—it just needs people to surrender their critical judgment to a machine that never doubts itself.

  3. Irony of the System:

The real danger isn't just that AI will outsmart us; it’s that humans are eager to give up their agency to avoid the discomfort of making their own choices.
